Terms of Service, Privacy and Disclaimers

Last updated September 21, 2026. This page covers OSINT Toolbox (osint.locker), called “this site” or “we” below. Your use of this site constitutes acceptance of these terms.

In short: this is a free research tool. We do not create the data you see, we do not promise it is correct, and you are responsible for how you use it. You are not asked for personal information, and we do not sell or share what little we receive.

Disclaimers

• This site does not provide original data. Every result is the product of an individual third party: a government agency, a public database, a news organization or another outside service. The source is named with each result, and the credit lines say where it came from.
• We make no claims of accuracy for any result presented by our searches, lookups or AI tools. Results may be incomplete, out of date, mismatched, or wrong. A search that finds nothing does not prove nothing exists.
• AI answers can be wrong. The Research AI and the chat assistant use artificial intelligence. They can misread a question, miss records, or state something that is not true. Treat their answers as leads to check, never as verified facts, and confirm anything important at the original source.
• A record is not proof of anything. A contract, donation, headline, filing, video or paper in a result does not show wrongdoing, endorsement or truth. Do not draw conclusions about a person or organization from a search result alone.
• You assume all responsibility for your use of any data you find through our research and lookup tools, including what you publish, report, or decide based on it.
• Not professional advice. Nothing here is legal, financial, medical or other professional advice.
• No affiliation or endorsement. This site is not part of, and is not endorsed by, any government agency or any of the sources it searches.
• Outside links and services. We do not control third-party websites or data services, and we are not responsible for their content, availability or accuracy. We have no control over their speed or whether they are working at any given time.
• “As is.” The site is provided as is and as available, without warranties of any kind. We may change, limit or stop any part of it at any time. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from use of, or inability to use, the site or anything found through it.

Acceptable use

• Use the site lawfully. Do not use it to harass, stalk, threaten or harm anyone, or to unlawfully gather or misuse personal information.
• Some data carries legal limits of its own. For example, federal law does not allow information about individual political contributors to be used to solicit contributions or for commercial purposes.
• Do not overload the site or its outside sources with automated or bulk requests, and do not try to get around its limits or protections.
• Follow the terms of the original sources. Each source has its own rules for reuse and credit.

Privacy

• You are not asked to provide any information to use this site. There are no accounts and no logins.
• We do not sell or share your information, and we run no advertising or analytics trackers.
• Your searches. When you run a search, our server sends your search words to the outside data service that answers it, so that service can see the words you searched (not who you are). We do not save your searches. The one exception is a short-lived working copy: Research AI keeps a search's results for up to 10 minutes so its two AIs do not repeat the same search, and then deletes them.
• Research AI and the chat assistant. Your question is sent to artificial intelligence providers (currently OpenAI and Anthropic) to produce an answer, and to the public data sources the AI searches. We do not save your questions or the answers. The providers handle what they receive under their own policies, so please do not type anything you would not want an outside service to see.
• Rating a chat answer. If you click thumbs up or thumbs down in the chat assistant, the recent conversation (up to the last 10 messages) is saved with your rating so we can improve the assistant. If you do not want that, do not use the rating buttons.
• The contact form. If you send us a message or suggestion, we receive what you type, including your email address, so that we can reply if you ask us to. We do not sell or share your email or add it to any mailing list.
• Cookies and your device. The site uses a session cookie that some features need (for example, the once-per-visit check on Research AI). The accessibility tools save your settings on your own device only. We use no advertising or tracking cookies.
• Usage limits. To keep the free tools running, we count how often the site is used with a scrambled form of your network address combined with the date. It is not stored in readable form and it resets daily.
• Server logs. Our web host keeps standard server records under its own policies. These can include network addresses and the web addresses of pages requested, and on the Live Lookups pages a web address can contain the words you searched. We do not control how long the host keeps these records.
• Donations. Donations are handled by Stripe on its own pages. We never see or store your payment details.

Third-party terms

This site uses YouTube API Services for its video search. By using the video search you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service, and Google's use of information is described in the Google Privacy Policy. Other data sources have their own terms, which apply to how you may use what they provide.

Changes and contact

We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top shows when they last changed, and continuing to use the site means you accept the current version. Questions or suggestions? Use the contact form.
