Airport Delays and Closures (FAA)

What the FAA is reporting right now for US airports: ground stops (flights held at their origin), ground delay programs, general arrival and departure delays, and closures. Leave the box empty to see every airport with a problem, or enter a 3-letter code such as ATL or JFK. A quiet airport simply has no entry. FAA data as of Thu Oct 1 19:54:22 2026 GMT.

How to use this page (what the terms mean)
  • Ground stop: flights bound for that airport are held at the airports they leave from until the stop ends. The end time shown is the FAA's estimate and often gets extended.
  • Ground delay program: departures toward the airport are spaced out. Average and maximum delays are shown.
  • Arrival or departure delay: general delays, with a trend (increasing or decreasing).
  • Closure: an airport or runway is closed. The text is the FAA's own notice, usually in abbreviations.
  • Reason codes: WX means weather, MIT means miles-in-trail (aircraft spaced further apart), TM means traffic management. Plain words such as “thunderstorms” are what they sound like.
  • One airport: enter its 3-letter code, with or without the leading K (ATL or KATL). Nothing listed means the FAA reports no programs there right now. Leave the box empty to see every airport with a problem.
  • Timing: this page copies the FAA's feed at most every 3 minutes. The “FAA data as of” time is the FAA's own. For flights already in the air, or last week's delays, use the sources page.
